The Ford Family Foundation of Roseburg, Oregon, founded by Kenneth & Hallie Ford, offers assistance to residents of rural and urban Oregon to pursue higher education. The scholarship programs reflect the Foundation's mission "to help individuals through organized learning opportunities to be contributing and successful citizens." The following scholarship programs, which in most instances are need-based, offer educational opportunities to applicants of all ages with some special circumstances.

  1. The Ford Scholars Program: For graduating high school seniors or students at the point of transferring from a community college to a 4 year college; 100-120 selected each year; must be planning to earn a bachelor's degree; awards 90% of unmet financial need; renewable.
  2. The Ford Opportunity Program: For single parents (heads of household); 50 selected each year; must be planning to earn a bachelor's degree; awards 90% of unmet financial need; renewable.
  3. The Ford ReStart Program: For non-traditional students (over age 25), who wish to begin or continue on an educational track at college; may be planning to earn a technical certificate, associates or bachelor's degree; 30 selected each year; awards 90% of unmet financial need; renewable.
  4. The Ford Sons and Daughters Program: For the dependants of employees of Roseburg Forest Products Co.; may be planning to earn technical, associates or bachelor's degree; award amount varies from $2,500 - $5,000; renewable.
