Application Process
Volunteer to mentor high school students in your community.
Interested in helping students achieve their dreams?
Over 100 high schools and community groups are supporting
students throughout Oregon with the ASPIRE program. Oregon Mentors provides information on the importance of
mentor relationships and assists volunteers with finding an ASPIRE site placement
or, you may contact the site where you would like to volunteer directly. Ask for
the ASPIRE Coordinator.
Getting Started
- Contact your local ASPIRE site to initiate the application process.
- Familiarize yourself with the tasks and responsibilities of ASPIRE volunteers by
reviewing volunteer position descriptions.
- Satisfactorily complete a criminal background check - volunteers may not work one-on-one
with students until this step is completed. ASPIRE sites may also conduct
personal reference checks and interviews.
The application process may take a few weeks. During this time you may be able to
provide essential support to the ASPIRE site by assisting in the their work area
and working with other ASPIRE volunteers.
